Tottenham Hotspur are expected to mount a sustained challenge for the Premier League title this season.
Speaking to reporters ahead of his side’s trip to Manchester City tomorrow, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino offered his emotional view on the club’s impending move from White Hart Lane next season, but highlighted how the prospect of leaving their home of 118 years seems to have given his squad extra emphasis to perform this season, as quoted by the Telegraph.
Tottenham are due to move into their new 61,000 capacity stadium for the start of the 2018/19 season, but will play their home games next term at Wembley – something that has proved troublesome for them this season during their Champions League campaign.

And the Argentine manager explained how the fact that the players know that this is their final season playing at White Hart Lane is consequently giving them that little bit extra when they play this term, as quoted by the Telegraph:
“You can imagine how tough it will be in a few months when it doesn’t exist, White Hart Lane, and we need to move to play at Wembley. It will be very tough for our fans and for the people who love Tottenham. I think it is an energy or an extra that we feel, the players feel, in the way that we are playing this season at White Hart Lane. You can see that we are warriors.”

The Lilywhites currently sit in second spot in the Premier League table, seven points adrift of league leaders Chelsea, but have really started to gather momentum over this past month or so, reeling off six consecutive league wins in the process.
And could there possibly be a better sign off for their famous old stadium than their first ever Premier League crown?
