Which Sunderland players would fans not mind seeing the back of this month?
As the January transfer window passes the halfway mark, HITC Sport has put together a poll looking at the Sunderland players that perhaps some would not mind seeing move on this month. But before we give the fans the chance to vote, here is a look at the five contenders...
Sunderland's Vito Mannone
Vito Mannone has been overshadowed by Jordan Pickford this term, and has only found himself back between the sticks since the youngster's emergence due to injury. The Sun reports that Genoa have been interested in the Italian this month.
Jeremain Lens is currently out on a season-long loan with Fenerbahce, but has surely burnt his bridges with Sunderland beyond repair by suggesting that he hopes they get relegated so he can make a permanent move to Turkey (via Guardian). It is difficult to imagine any reason why the Premier League side would reject a permanent bid during this window, if the fee was acceptable.
Stoke City's Joe Allen in action with Sunderland's Jack Rodwell
Jack Rodwell has started 35 games for Sunderland and not been on a winning side in any of those fixtures. Though he is not the only player to blame for that fact, he has done little to give the club's fans hope. The superstitious supporters would probably like to see him sold, if not, left out for the rest of the season!
Donald Love's move to the Stadium of Light has not gone to plan it is safe to say. He has featured in the starting line-up just five times.
Sunderland's Wahbi Khazri
Wahbi Khazri was one of three Sunderland signings who inspired their great escape last season under Sam Allardyce. Sadly however, his form has been nowhere near as influential this time around. In 11 appearances, he is yet to contribute a goal or assist.
Sunderland fans, who would you not mind seeing leave the Stadium of Light during the January transfer window? Cast your vote below...
