The Blues are reportedly looking at bringing in the 32-year-old.
Birmingham City manager Gianfranco Zola is still working on his own transfer targets as he looks to put his stamp on the squad, but there is one rumour that Blues fans don’t want to see materialise.
As revealed by HITC Sport on Monday afternoon, Zola has launched a £3 million bid for the Swansea City man as he looks to add experience and attacking talent to his side.
Routledge, who had short and unsuccessful spells at the like of Blues’ arch-rivals Aston Villa, Cardiff City, and Newcastle United before joining the Swans in 2011, has played over 200 times for the Liberty Stadium club.

The 32-year-old has still been a big part of a struggling Swans side this term, making 20 appearances in all competitions.
However, it is thought that new boss Paul Clement may be willing to let him move on, and Birmingham are at the front of the queue.

Routledge has undoubted experience at both Championship and Premier League level, but at 32 has little sell-on value, and so the quoted £3 million fee is perhaps a tad steep.
Blues fans certainly do not seem convinced that Routledge is the best target they could be looking at getting in for that kind of money, if their reactions on Twitter are anything to go by.
