Celtic are slowly building towards becoming more competitive in the Champions League.

During an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, Celtic defender Kolo Toure shared his excitement at the prospect of linking up with new signing Kouassi Eboue, despite admitting never having seen him play.

The Hoops completed the signing of the 19-year-old Ivorian earlier this month, for a fee believed to be in the region of £3 million, and the teenager’s arrival in Glasgow has been accompanied by big talk of what he can go on to achieve in the game, with many Celtic fans comparing his capture to that of Victor Wanyama in 2011.

And Toure, who moved to Parkhead in the summer on a free transfer, discussed the much-hyped arrival of his fellow countryman, and shared what he had heard about the youngster prior to his arrival at the club, as quoted by CelticFC.net:

“I haven’t seen anything of him but I know what he’s gone to the national team. I’m looking forward to training with him so I can see what he’s capable of. From what I’ve heard he seems to be a really good player, and when I talk to him I can see he’s a young player who wants to be one of the best and he’s hungry. I like that. I told him I’ll try to help him settle in.”

Brendan Rodgers’ men have been totally dominant domestically this season, and currently hold a 19 point lead over second placed Rangers, with a game in hand over their bitter rivals.

And what a fantastic time for Eboue to arrive at the club, what with such a positive atmosphere emanating from the green side of Glasgow.
