Everton boss Ronald Koeman is expected to be busy in the transfer market this month.
Speaking live on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily at 10:37 am on January 11th, ex-Everton midfielder Leon Osman gave his verdict on his former club, and what their ambitions should be, highlighting how they are currently a club in transition.
The Toffees currently sit in seventh position in the Premier League table, but have been inconsistent to say the least over the past two months, winning just four of their last 15 league games.
And Osman, who made 432 appearances for the Blues, discussed the direction in which his former club are heading, when speaking live on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily, and was asked what their aim should be:
Leon Osman during his time with Everton
“Silverware, is the answer to that. It’s been a long time since Everton have picked up any silverware, and that’s got to be the first aim – to bring silverware back to the club. I would describe Everton as being in transition at the minute, moving from Roberto Martinez’ style. I believe Ronald Koeman still expects his team to keep kicking on, he’s not completely happy with the players he’s got as the club. He’s still trying to mould the team into his own.”

Everton fans undoubtedly expected more from their side this season, especially after the impressive start they made to their campaign.
But, as always is the case in football, managers need time to implement their ideas and footballing philosophies into their side, and it would be fairer to judge Koeman at the end of next season, rather than just halfway into this one.
The Merseysiders sit nine points adrift of Manchester United in the table, so closing that gap will be the club’s aim in the short-term, although it will be an extremely difficult challenge to say the least.
