The 23-year-old has been put of action since November.

Crystal Palace striker Connor Wickham has posted an update on his knee injury as he continues his rehabilitation after suffering the injury back in November.

The English striker’s injury was almost forgotten amid the drama of Palace’s 5-4 loss against Swansea City toward the end of the month.

But it was a severe injury as the attacker suffered a cruciate knee ligament tear and required surgery.

The operation was clearly a success and he posted this video on Instagram earlier today as he starts looking toward a comeback:

Still difficult to accept but it’s times like this that keep me going! Looking good at nearly 6 weeks post op

Wickham will undoubtedly be kicking himself at the time he picked up the injury. Sam Allardyce is now in charge at Selhurst Park and the 23-year-old will feel he could have been a star at the club under his management, giving his style of play.

Unfortunately, Palace are now unlikely to see Wickham in action again this season as he recovers from the problem and the club are likely to make a move to bring in a new striker to help alleviate the strain on Christian Benteke.

Hopefully he can recover fully and come back stronger next season.
