The Turkish international was originally wanted by Celtic in the summer.

Celtic are set to make an offer for Turkish left-back Hasan Ali Kaldirim, as they look to bring the player in this summer from Fenerbahce.

The news has been picked up in the British media this weekend, but it was first reported in Turkey by Fotomac.

They claimed that Celtic have already contacted the player over a potential three-year-contract in Glasgow. The deal is said to be worth around £1.6 million-a-year and will see him stay at Parkhead until at least 2020.

The new will not come as much of a shock to Celtic fans – as the Bhoys were linked with his signature already in the summer.

The Daily Record reported in June that Celtic were interested in a move for the player in the summer, with a fee of around £2 million suggested. No deal came off however and Kaldirim remains at Fenerbahce.

The 27-year-old Turkish international has 16 caps for his country but was born in Germany and came through the youth ranks at Kaiserslautern.

He can play in several positions, including central midfield, left-wing and his preferred position of left-back and would provide cover in a number of positions for Brendan Rodgers’ team.
