The Luxembourg talent has expressed his joy at the week he spent with Aston Villa.

Last week it was confirmed by Luxembourg-based club Fola Esch on their official website that teenage defender Enes Mahmutovic had joined Aston Villa on trial.

The powerful central defender, who can also play at right-back or in holding midfield, is considered one of the top talents in Luxembourg and one who might be able to go on and play at a high level in the game and become a star of Luxembourg football.

Aston Villa assessed him throughout last week as they consider whether he is good enough to join the club or not.

Now the player and his representative have been talking to the press in Luxembourg about the spell with Villa.

Talking to Luxemburger Wort the teenager expressed his joy at what he felt was a successful trial period:

"The conditions and infrastructure at Aston Villa are at the highest level, it was a great experience, and I also did a good job in training."

His agent Shukri Asllan then went on to comment. He confirmed that Mahmutovic will not be joining Villa any time soon. He has this to say, confirming he will consider his options in the summer:

"In the summer, we will be sitting at a table and discussing what is best for Enes."

Aston Villa may be in the Championship but their facilities remain first-class and they have the ability to lure players from around the globe – even the most obscure of locations.

Hopefully that will continue, with Mahmutovic clearly hopeful of a deal at Bodymoor Heath.
