HITC Sport understands several clubs are keeping tabs on Northampton winger.
Anderson has been a stand-out performer for Northampton since his arrival in the summer on a free transfer from Bradford City.
Former Liverpool youngster Anderson saw his progress at Bradford restricted last season with a broken leg seeing him make just 18 appearances for the Bantams.
The 28-year-old has scored six goals and laid on four assists for Northampton so far this season and his performances have not gone unnoticed elsewhere.
Anderson signed a one-year deal upon his arrival at Sixfields and with the player in the final six months of his contract clubs have been alerted to his possible availability for a cut-price fee during this month's transfer window.
League One promotion hopefuls Sheffield United and Scunthorpe are thought to be monitoring Anderson's situation, while Championship duo Wigan Athletic and Cardiff City are also watching the winger as they look to add attacking options to their sides.
Anderson has made over 270 appearances in his career and Northampton will be determined to keep hold of the attacker as they look to stay in League One this season.
