HITC Sport takes a look at the good, the bad and the ugly transfer rumours and speculation surrounding Liverpool this January.
With the January transfer window now open, Liverpool have already been linked with a number of moves.
As the club fights to stay in the Premier League title hunt, many Reds fans are hoping that Jurgen Klopp will look to strengthen his side, as his team stay hot on the heels of leaders, Chelsea. We've decided to take a look at some of the realistic, speculative and ridiculous names being linked with a move to Anfield this month.

There are a couple of positions Liverpool will be looking to strengthen this month, with the most likely of those to be at the back. After signing Loris Karius, Liverpool are still in need of a world class goalkeeper, and have recently been linked with a move for Manchester City goalkpeer, Joe Hart, who is currently on loan at Torino. The report in the Liverpool Echo suggests that Hart himself has "told pals he would jump at the chance to make the switch to Anfield under Jurgen Klopp” and that he “wants City to play ball if Liverpool are willing to negotiate a deal in the summer.”

With much of Liverpool's style of play revolving around goal-scoring wide players, it was a real blow to Klopp to lose star striker Phillipe Coutinho to a lengthy injury. Since the loss, it's not been too surprising to see the Reds linked with bringing in more wide players, as the Liverpool Echo recently reported Klopp is looking to move for RB Leipzig winger, Emil Forsberg. The Swedish international, who has earned plaudits for his performances in the Bundesliga this season, could move this January according to his agent, with Liverpool a likely destination.

One thing we don't expect to see Liverpool doing this month is splashing huge amounts on one single player. After spending big on Sadio Mane in the summer, the Reds are likely to be looking for financially viable deals, rather than forking out multi-millions on any one target. A report in the Mirror recently linked the Reds with a move for PSG's Jese Rodriguez, despite the forward only joining the French giants in the summer. Rodriguez, who joined PSG from Real Madrid for a fee of around €25 million, would surely require Liverpool to pay through the nose, and with other options available, we personally can't see this one happening.
