Lansbury, who scored against Aston Villa earlier in the campaign, is out of contract at Nottingham Forest at the end of the campaign and has been linked with a string of clubs.
Aston Villa are preparing a bid for Nottingham Forest captain Henri Lansbury, according to Sky Sports.
Lansbury, who is out of contract at the City Ground in June, is reportedly wanted by a string of Championship clubs, along with Premier League Watford.
Derby County manager Steve McClaren confirmed via BBC Sport that his side could make a renewed bid for their rivals’ star man, having seen a £2.5 million offer turned down.

The Rams, however, look to have a new competitor in Aston Villa, against whom Lansbury scored one of his six goals this season.
The 26-year-old’s tally is more than any of Villa’s central midfielders have managed combined so far, and he would almost certainly improve Steve Bruce’s engine room in the second half of the campaign.

And the lack of love lost between Forest and Derby could give the Villans the upper hand in their pursuit.
Before his move to Nottingham, Lansbury was a trainee at Arsenal and spent time on loan at both Watford and West Ham United.
