Bolton fans are disappointed with Newcastle’s decision.
Newcastle United have recalled Sammy Ameobi from his loan spell at Bolton Wanderers, according to the Chronicle.
The young forward was sent out to the League One side earlier in the season but manager Rafa Benitez has evidently been impressed and wants to see what he can do.

The 24-year-old had scored just twice in 20 games for Bolton, but had played a key role in their rise to second in the table, currently occupying an automatic promotion place.
Newcastle have players leaving for the African Nations Cup, and recalling Ameobi increases their options. The attacker has played 66 first team games for Newcastle over the course of his career, scoring four times.

Rafa Benitez’s side lost yesterday to Blackburn Rovers for a second time this season and fell to second place in the table behind Brighton.
Bolton meanwhile have to hope Ameobi’s loss does not negatively impact their own season.
