The boyhood Glasgow Rangers fan was a reported summer target for Ibrox boss Mark Warburton.
How is he getting on?
The former Dundee player is now at Birmingham, where he has started five games from a possible 23 and failed to score or assist a single goal. New boss Gianfranco Zola has started Stewart in all three of his matches so far, but with a busy window ahead the 26-year-old could soon fall out of favour.
Do Rangers still need him?
It would appear so. Of the two wingers most strongly linked with moves to Ibrox this winter, both Jota and Sam Nicholson are left footers who can play on the right flank - a mould which Stewart also fits.
Can they get him in January?
If Rangers cannot land either Jota or Nicholson then a move for Stewart - a self-confessed Gers fan - is not beyond the realms of possibility, especially if Birmingham make signings in his position. Mark Warburton would likely seek a loan deal, if anything.
Verdict: Stewart is perhaps not Rangers' first choice but don't rule anything out if other targets cannot be acquired.
