Jonathan Woodgate seems to rate Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris highly.

Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Jonathan Woodgate has explained on the club’s official website what he loves about Hugo Lloris.

Lloris is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League and is a genuine world-class player.

The 30-year-old France international has been on the books of Spurs since the summer of 2012.

The goalkeeper joined Tottenham from French club Lyon for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £11.8 million.

Woodgate has praised Lloris and has outlined what he loves about the Tottenham star’s game.

“I love his starting position,” Woodgate told Tottenham’s official website. “He plays in a ‘sweeper’ role and he’s so quick.

“He’s not the tallest for a goalkeeper but he’s so sharp, brave as well. He’s made some incredible saves this season, great reactions, but it’s how quick and sharp he is that stands out for me.”

Tottenham are in decent form at the moment and are still in the running for the Premier League title this season.

Lloris has been playing well this campaign and remains a safe pair of hands behind a very strong defence.

Earlier this month, the former Nice goalkeeper signed a new contract with Tottenham which will run until 2022.

It was a great move from Tottenham, who are a hugely ambitious club and could end up in the top four of the Premier League yet again this season.
