Leeds United are set to complete a permanent deal for Pontus Jansson, and they want another centre-back in January.

According to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United want to sign another centre-back, even with Pontus Jansson set to join up permanently.

Jansson has made a wonderful impression at Elland Road since joining on loan from Torini last summer.

The Swedish defender has been one of the main reasons behind Leeds’ strong run of form, which has lifted them up to fifth place in the Championship table.

And Garry Monk’s side are now expected to complete a permanent deal to bring Jansson to Elland Road in January.

However, Monk is said to want another centre-back, to ensure that he is fully stocked in that position.

Leeds currently have Kyle Bartley and Liam Cooper competing for places at the heart of their back line, but Monk does not feel that he has sufficient cover at centre-back.

Leeds are also said to be interested in a winger and a striker (YEP), as the Whites aim to strengthen their squad when the transfer window reopens again.
