Tottenham Hotspur's top 10 kits since 1992 ranked

Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City

HITC Sport is taking a look at the best strips that Tottenham Hotspur have worn since the beginning of the Premier League era.

Many Tottenham Hotspur fans will be hoping that they receive one of the current strips this Christmas ahead of the second half of the campaign. But do any of the current kits rank in HITC Sport's top 10 of those worn by Tottenham since the start of the Premier League era?

10. Away 2016-17

The away kit that Mauricio Pochettino's men are wearing for this season is one of the more simple designs on this list, but it is perhaps also one of the smartest. The gold is a nice touch.

This is another smart looking offering from the North London club. It was while wearing this kit that they began their impressive run of top half finishes in the Premier League. They have only failed to secure a top half spot on one occasion since that season.

It was while this strip that Tottenham secured their first trophy of the Premier League era as they won the League Cup final against Leicester City back in 1999. It was perhaps also memorable for being the kit the side was wearing when David Ginola scored that goal against Barnsley in the FA Cup.

7. Home 1992-93

Tottenham's Vinny Samways and Everton's Robert Warzycha

The home kit that Tottenham wore during the first Premier League season was undoubtedly a classy one. The simple blue and white design stood out, in particular, due to the inclusion of white on the side of the shorts.

6. Third 2016-17

This kit may perhaps be the most divisive on the countdown but those who are a fan will surely love it. The gold with thin stripes seems to work well and it is a shame that they will probably not wear it that often this year.

5. Away 2013-14

This all blue kit definitely made a nice change from what had come before in terms of the away kits Tottenham had brought out. Unfortunately, it could not inspire them too much as they registered their lowest finish in the last seven seasons. Though it must be said that it was still an impressive sixth place.

The second best home kit on the countdown was the one worn during the 2001-02 campaign. A ninth place finish in the league was their highest for six seasons, and they reached the League Cup final, where they were beaten by Blackburn.

3. Away 2015-16

Seemingly happy with the blue kit they wore in 2013-14, Tottenham brought another last term. This time however, they added some dark stripes to make it even better. It, of course, was a season which saw Spurs move into title contention.

2. Away 1999-2000

This kit is arguably one of the finest away strips any team has brought out in Premier League history. It simply oozed class even if the performances on the pitch did not send out the same messages.

The best kit that Tottenham have had since the start of the Premier League era is arguably their current home kit. Gold features once again, and elevates it to the next level. Hopefully for Spurs, they can close the gap to the league leaders and make the season a memorable one.
