Three Glasgow Rangers stars who could follow Frank McParland to Birmingham City

Glasgow Rangers' head of recruitment has been linked with a move away from Ibrox.

Glasgow Rangers' head of recruitment Frank McParland is wanted as Birmingham City's director of football, according to the Daily Record.

The Liverpudlian has lured a number of exciting talents to Ibrox over the past 14 months, but could he return for some of those if he leaves for St. Andrew's?

Here are three Rangers stars the Blues could target next month:

Martyn Waghorn

Waghorn has scored an incredible 38 goals in 53 games for Rangers and is sure to be of interest to Birmingham, who have lost striker Clayton Donaldson to injury. The Wearsider's contract expires in 18 months time, and he had looked destined for a return to England. However, two goals on his return to Mark Warburton's starting lineup against Hamilton on Friday could prompt Rangers to think twice about selling him.

Josh Windass

Birmingham failed to sign a replacement for last season's loan star Jon Toral in the summer and Windass could be ideal. The former Accrington Stanley midfielder was one of McParland's first Ibrox recruits and has already been linked with a move to either Newcastle United or Derby County by the Scottish Sun this month.

James Tavernier

The Blues have been linked with a move for Hearts right-back Callum Paterson [Daily Record], but with several other sides also said to be keen, manager Gianfranco Zola might have to consider alternatives. Tavernier starred in Rangers' Championship title success but has found life tougher this season and was recently ousted by Lee Hodson, which could convince Warburton to move him on.
