Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Paul Lambert is reportedly planning a January overhaul.

According to the Birmingham Mail, new Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Paul Lambert could allow six players to leave in January – and five of them are summer signings.

Wolves chose to sack Italian boss Walter Zenga after just 17 games back in October, and they decided to make former Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert his replacement.

So far, the Scot has taken charge of six games, winning twice, drawing twice and losing twice in an up-and-down start to life at Molineux, and he’ll be hoping to shape his squad in January.

Now, the Birmingham Mail report that, whilst Lambert is lining up a cut-price deal for Blackburn Rovers winger Ben Marshall, having worked with him at Ewood Park, he’s also looking to move six players out of the club.

It’s stated that left back Cameron Borthwick-Jackson will return to parent club Manchester United having failed to make himself a first-team regular since arriving at Molineux on loan over the summer.

Borthwick-Jackson isn’t the only summer signing named though, as the report adds that Richard Stearman, Joao Teixeira, Paul Gladon and Prince Oniangue are all being lined up for January moves away from Molineux.

Stearman is currently in his second spell at Wolves having played for the club between 2008 and 2015, but is only on loan from Fulham, and Lambert may look to terminate that loan to get his own defender in.

Playmaker Teixeira is another player currently on loan, and the 22-year-old could return to Benfica in the new year despite making a bright start to life as a Wolves player earlier this season.

Midfielder Oniangue and striker Gladon arrived from Stade Reims and Heracles Almelo respectively, but have combined for just nine league starts this season, and could be on their way out already.

The report adds one more name to the list of players on the chopping block, with Jed Wallace – once tipped for big things at Portsmouth – also fighting for his future under Lambert.
