Derby County and Norwich City could make moves for the Dutchman next month.
Derby County and Norwich City are both keen on Wigan Athletic winger Yanic Wildschut, according to the Sun.
Derby are said to be looking at alternatives to Johnny Russell, who the report states is a £1.5 million target for Brighton & Hove Albion.
And it is claimed that Norwich may also step up their interest if manager Alex Neil can move on some of his forwards next month.
Wildschut, who only moved to Wigan on a permanent deal from Middlesbrough in January, has scored three goals and provided two assists for the Latics this season.
However, with Saturday’s defeat to Ipswich Town, in which Wildschut scored twice for his team, leaving Wigan four points adrift of safety, the Dutchman would perhaps fancy a move to a top-end Championship side.
Seventh-place Derby are going strong under returning boss Steve McClaren, while Norwich are still in touch with the top six despite losing seven of their last nine league outings.
In light of their recent run, the Rams are likely to back McClaren in the January window, although Neil’s primary concern – aside from avoiding the sack – could be keeping hold of wingers Robbie Brady and the Murphy twins, who have been linked with moves elsewhere.
Should Derby County and Norwich City make Wildschut moves next month?
