Arsenal and Manchester City went head-to-head this weekend.
Theo Walcott scored for Arsenal in the fifth minute but Leroy Sane equalised for the hosts and Raheem Sterling scored what proved to be the winner with 19 minutes remaining.
Four minutes later, with Arsenal desperately searching for a second goal of their own, manager Arsene Wenger opted to take off Francis Coquelin and replace him with Olivier Giroud.
Coquelin has featured 20 times for Arsenal in all competitions this season. However he is not every fan’s cup of tea, with many preferring Mohamed Elneny and Granit Xhaka.
Unfortunately for the 25-year-old and his Arsenal teammates, City’s midfield was dominant for much of the encounter and Coquelin was simply unable to stamp his authority on the match.
After the game we took to Twitter to see what Arsenal fans thought of Coquelin’s latest performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
I'm not a Coquelin fan but he was our best player #cityvafc— Tony Mcginnis (@Tony_Mcginnis) December 18, 2016
