Southampton and West Ham United are reportedly keen on Eibar midfielder Dani Garcia.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Southampton and West Ham United are both keen on signing Eibar midfielder Dani Garcia.

Garcia, 26, endured a fairly low-key start to his career as he failed to settle with Alicante, Getafe B and Real Sociedad, but has found his home with Eibar.

The central midfielder initially spent two years on loan with Eibar before signing permanently in 2014, and he's certainly impressed in La Liga since Eibar's promotion in 2014.

A player with impressive passing ability who protects the back four, Garcia is the heartbeat of the Eibar midfield, and his performances appear to have attracted interest from Premier League clubs.

Spanish newspaper Marca report that Southampton and West Ham have both been impressed with Garcia, and could make moves to try and sign him in 2017.

Southampton's midfield has impressed this season, with Spaniard Oriol Romeu particularly important, but manager Claude Puel may seek to add Garcia to the likes of James Ward-Prowse, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Steven Davis and Jordy Clasie as his midfield options.

Meanwhile, West Ham have switched to a 3-4-2-1 system under Slaven Bilic, and with Cheikhou Kouyate converting to play as a centre back, Garcia could be seen as a player who can compete with Mark Noble and Pedro Obiang in the middle of the park.

It's added that German side Werder Bremen are also monitoring Garcia's performances in Spain, though a summer move appears more likely for the midfielder, with his contract ending in 18 months and no sign of him signing a new deal with Eibar.
