The West Ham forward's agent says he will be returning to Juventus.
The Italy striker moved to the Olympic Stadium in the summer transfer window as Slaven Bilic looked to add to his forward options.
He initially joined on loan, although the deal included the option for the move to become permanent should he play a requisite number of games.
His move has proven to be a disastrous one, though, with the forward yet to open his account for the Hammers.
West Ham United's Simone Zaza looks dejected
He has subsequently been linked with a quick departure, with reports suggesting that the Hammers did not want to pay for him to sign permanently.
Clubs in Italy and Spain have been linked but his agent says he will be returning to the Serie A champions in the meantime.
"Zaza will definitely go back to Juve, because West Ham do not want to keep him," the Italy international's agent, Vincenzo Morabito, told Juvenews.
"He will certainly return to Juve. He could well stay in Turin, given that Juventus might need another striker. If not, there are plenty of other options."
West Ham United's Simone Zaza looks dejected as West Bromwich Albion's Claudio Yacob looks on
It will certainly be interesting to see what happens with Zaza in the January transfer window.
A departure from West Ham is looking increasingly likely with every day but his future at Juventus is hardly certain.
They have a plethora of players available to them up front and Zaza is not likely to break into the team anytime soon so another move elsewhere may be his best option again.
