The striker is currently in negotiations over a new deal with Arsenal.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Ray Wilkins has suggested that Arsenal should set a £80m asking price for Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean is currently in negotiations over a new deal at the Emirates, with his current contract expiring in 18 months time.

So far an agreement is yet to be reached, with reports suggesting that the player’s huge wage demands are holding up the proceedings.

As a result, a potential exit has been mooted with several top European teams as some in China all rumoured to be considering a move.

If he were to leave it would be for big money and Wilkins believe the asking price should be £80m.

"If Arsenal are looking and the Chinese are coming in with those kind of offers, I reckon that's £80m for Sanchez. That's Arsenal's get out,” he told talkSPORT.

For now, Sanchez must simply focus on maintaining the superb form that he has shown this season.

He has 14 goals in all competitions this season making him Arsenal’s top goalscorer and the joint top scorer in the Premier League.

That has helped Arsenal to third in the table and if he continues to perform at that level the Gunners could easily ask for big money in the summer should it become apparent he will not be signing a new deal.
