Report: Arsenal still want Pierre Emerick-Aubamenyang

Arsenal have been linked with the Gabon international once again.

Bild have reported on Thursday that Arsenal remain keen to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Borussia Dortmund hitman has netted 20 goals from 20 games across all competitions for the German giants so far this season.

Alexis Sanchez has led Arsenal's forward line to great effect but the Gunners could well need another option come the end of the season if the Chilean leaves.

And Bild report that Wenger would have to wait until the summer no matter what, with Dortmund unwilling to let him quit the club in January for obvious reasons.

The German outlet goes on to report that Real Madrid are also interested and it would be difficult for the English giants to compete with such financial clout.

The North London side did, however, lodge a bit between £45 and £55 million last year, Bild went on to claim.

Signing Aubameyang would be a huge step forward for Arsenal. Olivier Giroud is very decent, but he isn't the answer. Sanchez, on the other hand, is not a recognised centre-forward, even if he is scoring as regularly as one.

Wenger hasn't had a top-quality number nine in his side since Robin van Persie quit the club over four years ago and it is probably time to replace him.
