HITC Sport understands a host of clubs want Newcastle striker on loan.
A number of League One clubs are chasing Newcastle United striker Ivan Toney on loan, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Toney is currently on loan at Shrewsbury, but his loan spell ends next month after he signed a six-month deal at the club in the summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old has caught the eye at Shrewsbury despite their struggles in League One, scoring six goals in all competitions so far this season.
Toney joined Newcastle in summer 2015 Northampton Town and he made four appearances in his debut season for the then Premier League club.
Toney enjoyed two loan spells at Barnsley last season scoring two goals in eight appearances for the League One side before being recalled in January by Newcastle after an injury to Papiss Cisse.
The striker suffered an ankle injury which ruled him out for three months before he returned to Barnsley for a second loan in March until the end of the season helping the Tykes win the Football League Trophy as well as promotion to the Championship
Toney is highly-regarded at Newcastle, but with his first-team chances set to be limited once his loan at Shrewsbury ends the club feel he would be better served going out on loan again so that he can get regular first-team action under his belt.
Bolton, Bradford and Fleetwood are all understood to have made enquiries to Newcastle for Toney as they look to bolster their attacking options in the January transfer window.
