The Everton midfielder has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur have made a tentative enquiry for Ross Barkley as they seek greater attacking support for Harry Kane, according to the London Evening Standard.
The Everton midfielder would reportedly cost Spurs a minimum £35 million – despite his contract expiring in around 18 months time.

For a player struggling to fulfill his potential on Merseyside, that sort of money would certainly represent a risk for Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino, whose summer signings – notably Everton target Moussa Sissoko – have been largely scrutinised.
However, if there’s any manager likely to coax out the best of Barkley it’s the Argentine, having groomed the likes of Adam Lallana, Danny Rose and Harry Kane – not to mention Eric Dier, a player who barely featured for Everton – into established England internationals.

Although, whether there’s room for Barkley at White Hart Lane, or whether he would want to leave his boyhood club for Spurs, remains to be seen.
Would the Tottenham fans take him? Here’s what’s been said on Twitter:
