Jaap Stam claimed Reading deserved more following their 2-0 loss to Leeds.
To go away from home and dominate possession is a recipe for a good result, but Reading were unable to convert their time on the ball into goals against Leeds last night.
The Royals were beaten 2-0 at Elland Road with Chris Wood and Souleymane Doukara scoring in each half, with the second coming from the penalty spot.

Reading managed 73 per cent of possession – but the key was in the detail.
The majority of these passes came in their own half, 440 to be exact.
| Total Back Zone Passes | Total Fwd Zone Passes | |
|---|---|---|
| Reading | 440 | 285 |
| Leeds | 84 | 137 |
Reading boss Jaap Stam claimed after the game that his side deserved more out of the game, citing their possession as a reason.
He told the club website: “We played very, very well – maybe one of our best games actually.
We deserved more, but you don’t always get what you deserve. The only thing that disappointed me tonight however, was the result.”

His comments did not go down well with Leeds supporters after the game, who felt the former Manchester United defender was deluding himself if he was trying to suggest his team really were better value for the win.
