Arsenal certainly missed Shkodran Mustafi.
Arsenal were left to rue poor defending as Everton overturned a 1-0 deficit to win 2-1 at Goodison Park.
Both of Everton's goals came from headers, with Leighton Baines and Ashley Williams both unchallenged as they headed home at the end of each half.
Everton's Ashley Williams scores their second goal
Arsenal clearly missed injured defender Shkodran Mustafi, signed from Valencia in the summer, who was once part of Everton's academy.
His replacement, Gabriel Paulista, did little to enamour himself to Arsenal supporters who already felt worried that he was an instant downgrade on Mustafi.
He won four aerial duels, with teammate Koscielny winning 10, and won just one tackle.

The loss gives Arsenal's title rivals Chelsea a chance to extend their lead from three points to six, while Liverpool. Manchester City and Tottenham can gain ground on them.
It was only Arsenal's second league defeat of the season but this puts a dampener on their progress and they will have to hope rivals drop points tomorrow night.
Here is a look at how Arsenal fans reacted to Gabriel's display...
Mustafi's influence missed at CB. Gabriel CB woes haunted him once more. Best suited at RB as seen in recent weeks. Honestly. #afc— mBizO (@Geneva_Gooner) December 13, 2016
Koscielny pairing with Gabriel is not convincing. Holding is too young, he might cause some trouble. So we need Per to come back asap. #afc— RB (@rb_autumn) December 13, 2016
Mustafi is out for how many weeks ??? I can't deal with Gabriel at centre back #afc— FELA°° (@felzon) December 13, 2016
Gabriel isn't good enough. No creativity in the middle, Coquelin is a CDM playing CAM. Ozil, anonymous. Walcott, useless. Wenger, usual.#afc— BeNn5 (@the_pride_of_n5) December 13, 2016
