Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce reportedly wants to splash the cash on Norwich City’s Robbie Brady.

According to The Sun, Aston Villa are lining up a £10m move to sign Norwich City ace Robbie Brady – and are willing to offer wages of £50,000-a-week.

Villa’s resurgence under Steve Bruce continued on Saturday afternoon as they beat Wigan Athletic with a late goal from Jack Grealish, making it five wins in nine league games for new boss Bruce.

Currently just four points away from the play-off places, Villa are upwardly mobile under Bruce, and he will be looking to splash the cash during the January transfer window as he aims to take the club back to the Premier League.

Now, The Sun report that Bruce wants to reunite with Norwich City’s Robbie Brady – and is willing to pay a £10m transfer fee and £50,000-a-week in wages to land the Irishman next month.

Brady, 24, played under Bruce at Hull City, where he scored 14 goals in 124 across two loan spells and two years as a permanent Hull player, before heading to Norwich City in 2015.

The former Manchester United youngster not only impressed in the Premier League last term, but also starred for the Republic of Ireland at Euro 2016, scoring against both Italy and France.

A regular starter for Norwich, Brady has suffered some ups and downs this term as the Canaries have struggled of late, but Brady – who can play at left back or on the left of midfield – remains highly rated by many, seemingly including Bruce.

With Villa owner Tony Xia ready to back Bruce with funds in January, the Villa boss is seemingly keen to splash his cash on Brady, and whilst Norwich may be reluctant to sell to a divisional rival, the offer of £10m could be enticing, as could the £50,000-a-week wages on offer for Brady.
