The defender was being watched by his parent club manager Paul Lambert.
Sheffield United lost their first game since October last night as they went down 1-0 at home against Walsall.
A goal from Amadou Bakayoko proved to be the winner for Walsall and the Blades were left rueing a missed penalty from striker Billy Sharp in the 84th minute.
Interestingly, it was Walsall who last beat them, 2-1 in the EFL Trophy, and Blades fans were disappointed that their excellent unbeaten streak was now dust.
But they did take a positive from the game in the form of a poor performance from one of their key players.
Ethan Ebanks-Landell produced one of his poorest performances in a Sheffield United kit since joining the club on loan from Wolves in the summer.

This unlikely poor display came at the perfect time, as his parent club’s new manager Paul Lambert was in the crowd to assess whether he is worth recalling in January.
Based on the evidence of this display Molineux will be happy to allow Ebanks-Landell to remain at Bramall Lane – much to the joy of Blades fans.
Here is how they reacted to his display on Twitter…
Tonight showed we need Wright, the run comes to an end as soon as he doesn't start, it's not all about Ebanks-Landell. #twitterblades— Bran The Blade⚔ (@SufcBran) November 29, 2016
At least Paul Lambert won't want Ebanks Landell back after tonight— Dill (@LewisLowe1) November 29, 2016

However, with Paul Lambert watching at the Lane, Operation 'Keep Ebanks-Landell in Sheffield' worked a treat! #twitterblades— Matthew Howsham (@HeldtT) November 29, 2016
Can't see Lambert wanting EEL back after tonight.. Every cloud and that #Sufc— Adam (@adzblade8) November 29, 2016
