Derby County fans had nothing but praise for manager Steve McClaren, the influential Bradley Johnson and the rejuvenated Darren Bent after the 1-0 Championship victory over Norwich City.

Former Norwich City midfielder Bradley Johnson scored a second half winner for Derby County to give Steve McClaren’s side a fourth consecutive victory and condemn his old club to their fifth loss in a row.
After a first half that was largely dominated by Norwich, the match swung towards the home side after the break, with the quartet of Johnson, Jacob Butterfield, Tom Ince and Darren Bent hugely influential for the Rams, and it was Johnson who ultimately stole the show.

The 29-year-old midfielder spent four years at Carrow Road and was deemed dispensable by current Canaries boss Alex Neil before joining Derby on deadline day in the summer of 2015.
In what was his first Derby appearance against Norwich since the transfer, Johnson scored the game’s deciding goal in the 65th minute in the form of a low strike from 25 yards.

Johnson’s goal was met with jubilation by Derby fans on Twitter, with the attention being shared with Darren Bent amid continued adoration for McClaren’s second coming at Pride Park.

Since returning as manager in October, McClaren has overseen five victories in seven Championship games, securing 16 points from a possible 21 and rising from 20th to ninth position in the league table.
