Arsenal overcame the Cherries 3-1 in the Premier League this weekend.
Arsenal continued their fine campaign with a 3-1 home victory against Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon.
Two goals from Alexis Sanchez and one from Theo Walcott ensured Callum Wilson’s first-half equaliser ultimately proved to be a mere consolation and gave the Gunners yet another three points.
Arsenal’s win meant they remain only three points behind leaders Chelsea with 13 matches played, in a title race that even at this early stage looks like it could go down to the wire.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was forced to make an early change when Mathieu Debuchy was taken off after just 16 minutes, with the rarely seen Gabriel Paulista getting a chance to impress.
The Brazilian missed the start of the season with a muscle injury and had to make do with two EFL Cup appearances after returning to full fitness.
A series of appearances on the bench in the Premier League followed and he finally got his chance against the Cherries.
After the match we took to Twitter to see what Arsenal fans thought of Gabriel’s latest performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
Gabriel gives me the willies and I thought coq should have gone to RB, but thought he did well overall. Love how intense he is! #afc— liam (@db10s) November 27, 2016
Gabriel might actually be the answer to Bellerin’s absence and hopefully this is the start of Xhaka in a permanent CM role at #AFC— James MacKay (@jjmac83) November 27, 2016
What a cameo from Gabriel at RB. Reliable today all along— LΛ (@AFCLaz) November 27, 2016
Gabriel wasn’t that bad except for the first 20 or so minutes.— Meh (@ThapnAFC) November 27, 2016
Sad to see Debuchy leaving the pitch injured. Looked really good for that short period. Gabriel on right back? Convincing and smart. #UTA— Nemanja Bulatovic (@NemchyAFC) November 27, 2016
Hounorable mention to Gabriel. Thrown in at right back and has done the job— WELBZ (@AFC_Justin) November 27, 2016
Have to give credit to Gabriel. Not only defensively, but was smart going forward too. Showed great composure. #afc— Gadi Note (@gadi_note) November 27, 2016
Very good second half from Gabriel. Fair play to him.— SamW (@SamW_AFC) November 27, 2016
