Tottenham's Victor Wanyama looks dejected after the game

The Kenyan midfielder summed up the mood in the camp with this picture.

Tottenham Hotspur lost 2-1 to Chelsea in the Premier League today – continuing their poor form at Stamford Bridge against the Blues.

They took the lead early on through a brilliant strike from Danish midfield maestro Christian Eriksen.

However, they could not hold on.

Despite putting in a good performance Mauricio Pochettino’s side found themselves level when Pedro scored a curling effort. Victor Moses, who tormented Spurs throughout the game, scored what proved to be the winning goal in the 51st minute.

If there was one picture from the game that summed up how Spurs will feel after the result, including their fans, it was this one of Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama:

Despite his efforts throughout the game he could not change the outcome of the match.

Tottenham have been in inconsistent form recently. Spurs have just one win from their past nine games – a run of form that has seen them knocked out of the EFL Cup, Champions League and struggling to maintain the pace with the Premier League title contenders.

Tottenham fans will hope to see the smile on Wanyama’s face again soon.
