San Jose Earthquakes are reportedly interested in signing Emilio Izaguirre from Celtic in the January transfer window.
Major League Soccer outfit San Jose Earthquakes are interested in signing Emilio Izaguirre from Celtic in the January transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.
It has been reported that San Jose head coach Dominic Kinnear was at the Champions League game between Celtic and Barcelona this week.
The Bhoys took on Barcelona at Celtic Park in Group C on Wednesday evening.
Brendan Rodgers’s side suffered a 2-0 defeat in the match, thanks to a double from Argentina international forward Lionel Messi.
The 30-year-old defender started the game and played for the entire 90 minutes.
Izaguirre is back in the Celtic starting lineup due to the injury suffered by left-back Kieran Tierney.
Once Tierney is back fit, the 19-year-old will go back to being the first-choice left-back for the Glasgow giants.
It would make sense for Izaguirre to look to leave the Hoops in the January transfer window, but perhaps the Honduras international should remain at Celtic Park until the end of the season.
Celtic are 10 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with a game in hand.
