As United search for defensive personnel, Ibrahimovic backs their interest in his compatriot Victor Lindelof of Benfica.
Jose Mourinho is seeking defensive reinforcements and is looking to strengthen come the opening of the January transfer window, and Benfica's central defender Lindelof is one of the names that has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford.
Lindelof's form for the Portuguese club has caught the eye of United's scouts, who have been present at numerous Benfica games so far this season. The Swede has made nine league apperances for the club, as well as being an ever-present at the back for Benfica in the Champions League, in which there is still chance of qualification for the knockout stages.
His fortunes on the international stage have also forced United to take note. Lindelof is becoming an increasingly important member of the Swedish national side, and fellow countryman Ibrahimovic believes that the centre back is ready to make the switch to a 'big club'.
Speaking to the Mirror, Ibrahimovic said of Lindelof: “I think Victor is doing great things, he is playing good for Benfica, he gets a lot of responsibility for the national team now, he is growing.
“Is he good enough for United? I think he’s good enough for the big clubs out there. It’s up to him what he wants and what the situation says. Whatever he chooses will be good for him.
“I know he is hot on the market so let him make the right choice, what fits him good.”
