More than three decades ago, Wolverhampton Wanderers were in a dire situation. Located towards the bottom end of the Football League following struggles both on the pitch and off, they were in need of a serious transformation or the risk of liquidation was a serious possibility.

Step right up Steve Bull and Andy Thompson. These two men, who were recently honoured for their years of service, picked the Midlands side up and put them on their feet as they turned the club's fortunes around.

It was not an easy task and it took time but the quality these two possessed, Bull in particular, was a shining example of how one move can change everything. Bull was a local lad and that passion came through more than anyone could have possibly imagined.

His goals were one thing, but the way in which Bull brought the confidence back to the fans is the real headliner. Without the forward, Wolves as a club may not even be here today. It sounds drastic, but that's how dire things really were.

Molineux was never the same again after that famous day in 1986.
