In the opening stages of the Premier League season, Arsenal have shown that they could be serious title contenders this season, and that is largely down to tightening up at the back.
For far too long, defensive errors had been plaguing any potential title charge from the Gunners, but with the arrival of Shkodran Mustafi and the fantastic form of Laurent Koscielny, Arsenal look like the real down both offensively and defensively. During Arsenal's title winning campaigns, they have had some real defensive greats such as Tony Adams and Martin Keown, and it remains to be seen whether or not Koscielny is at that level.

Winning ugly is a trait needed by any club if they are to win the league, picking up scrappy victories when you aren't necessarily playing well, which has been something the Gunners have struggled with in the past. However, times could be changing this season.
One fan said: "There is an improvement this season, you can feel it inside. We can win by playing bad."
Arsenal fans aren't getting too carried away despite their impressive start, having seen many a title charge fall apart over recent years.
