Madrid's two footballing giants meet for the first time since last season's Champions League final on Saturday, with Real hoping to emerge from the Vicente Calderon with their unbeaten La Liga record still intact.

A run of eight wins and three draws from their opening 11 fixtures has seen Zinedine Zidane's side climb to the top of the table, two points clear of Barcelona.

The Frenchman's first full season in the hotseat has started well, but this weekend represents his toughest domestic test to date.

Atletico are not firing on all cylinders currently, however; two defeats in three games have seen them drop to fourth.

In Antoine Griezman and Yannick Carrasco they certainly have the players to hurt their city rivals, and they have the incentive of closing the gap between them to just three points with a victory.

The Key Battle - Gareth Bale vs Filipe Luis

Fresh from signing his bumper new deal at the Bernabeu, the Welshman has been on fire of late. Bale has netted in each of his past three matches in all competitions and has 11 goals to his name overall.

Former Chelsea full-back Luis is finding life much more to his liking back at Atletico, and has been an ever-present in their back four this season.
