Greenock Morton hot prospect Jai Quitongo has up to 20 clubs from England looking to land his signature, which will cost any of them less than £20,000, HITC Sport understands.
The 19-year-old is seen as one of Scottish footballs top talents, but his contract is due to expire at the end of the season - and if he moves across the border - Morton will be due less than £20,000 in compensation.
Morton would prefer for Celtic or Rangers to make a move as that would entitle them to substantially more compensation, should he decide to leave at the end of the season. Morton could also try and sell him in January to try and cash in on their prized asset.

HITC Sport understands that North East trio Newcastle United, Sunderland and Middlesbrough are amongst the clubs all keen on the young forward, but there are over a dozen other English clubs making regular trips to check on him.
Quitongo is also facing a battle for his services on the international front.
Despite the fact he is a Scotland Under-21 international, he also qualifies for Portugal through his father Jose - a former pro - and HITC Sport understands that he is due to get his Portuguese passport in the coming weeks, which could yet see him feature for the Iberian nation.
