The story changes by the day, and new developments suggest Liverpool’s pursuit of Dahoud is nowhere near it’s conclusion.
Dortmund have stepped up their interest in Borussia Monchengladbach playmaker Mahmoud Dahoud and are prepared to offer former Liverpool midfielder Nuri Sahin as part of a potential deal, Bild reports.
Liverpool appeared hot favourites to secure the services of one of the most in-demand youngsters in European football after Calciomercato reported that transfer rivals Juventus had accepted defeat and opted to pursue alternative targets, leaving The Reds clear to complete a bargain deal for a player who’s contract has only 18 months left to run.

However, Dortmund have now dramatically entered the race, with their Bundesliga challenge already fading following the departures of key creators Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Ilkay Gundogan to either side of Manchester in the summer.
Thomas Tuchel’s usually exhilarating outfit have produced a number of flat displays in recent weeks, draws with Ingolstadt and Hertha characterised by a lack of incision from a midfield robbed of its two most persistent threats.
Consequently, Bild claim that Dortmund are prepared to offer Sahin, who is yet to feature in the first-team this season after an injury stricken few years, plus £15 million in exchange for Dahoud.

Gladbach will be more than aware of the inevitability of the departure of the crafty German under-21 international, meaning the prospect of obtaining a ready-made replacement in Sahin could sway the deal away from Jurgen Klopp.
Sahin made just seven Premier League appearances after arriving on loan from Real Madrid, cutting short his season-long deal to return to Dortmund midway through the campaign.
