Aston Villa are looking at Charleroi captain Francis N’Ganga, according to the Sun.

The Belgian side are currently sixth in the standings, though only a point behind second-placed Anderlecht, and N’Ganga has featured in all but one of their fixtures so far.

However, with his contract due to expire at the end of the campaign (Transfermarkt), Charleroi are in danger of losing the Republic of Congo international when the transfer window reopens.

According to this week’s Sunday People, Bruce has been given the green light to add to his options in January, and is also keen to strengthen the spine of his team – despite winning three and losing none of his first five games in charge at Villa Park.

Villa have Jordan Amavi and Aly Cissokho who can play in N’Ganga’s position, although the former only recently returned from a long-term injury lay-off.

Born in France, N’Ganga began his career at Grenoble later played for Tours before moving north of the border in 2012.
