Some West Ham United fans appear to have lost faith in Dimitri Payet, after his performances this season.
West Ham United fans appear to be becoming frustrated with Dimitri Payet, after the French international put in another sub-par performance against Stoke City yesterday.
Payet was West Ham’s star player last season, as he helped Slaven Bilic’s side claim a seventh place finish in the Premier League.
However, the attacking midfielder has been nowhere near as effective this time around.
Payet’s performances have not had the same amount of dynamism or creativity about them as they did last season.
And even though the former Marseille man did claim an assist in West Ham’s 1-1 draw with Stoke City yesterday, it was not enough to get Payet’s critics off his back.
There are now calls for Payet to be dropped, with some West Ham fans questioning his attitude.
West Ham had taken the lead against Stoke when Michail Antonio’s header was deflected into the back of his own net by Glenn Whelan. However, Stoke hit back through Bojan and went on to claim a point.
West Ham are now in 16th place in the Premier League table, and return to action after the international break with a match against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.
