Crystal Palace came back fighting in the second half, coming from behind to level with Burnley. Connor Wickham pulled one back for the visitors in the 60th minute. A Christian Benteke penalty in the 81st minute then put Palace back in the game.

Palace looked like the team more likely to grab the winner at that point but a stunning Barnes strike gave Burnley a late victory at the death. Townsend even hit the post for Palace, but in the end it was the Clarets who walked away with three points.

Alan Pardew's side have now lost four straight league matches, despite dominating a lot of the game, Palace couldn't do enough to take something from the match.
