A strong Aston Villa Under-23 side eased to a 4-0 win on Monday night.

Aston Villa’s Under-23s eased to victory against their counterparts from Blackburn Rovers on Monday night, with Aaron Tshibola and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy in particular catching the eye.

Tshibola, Hepburn-Murphy (2) and Andre Green were each on target as a strong Villans side – which contained experienced first-teamers Jack Grealish and Gabriel Agbolahor – secured a 4-0 win at Walsall’s Bank’s Stadium.

As far as many Villa fans are concerned, the duo (not Grealish and Agbonlahor) should get the chance to replicate Monday’s success when Blackburn’s first team travel to Villa Park this weekend.

Here’s how Villa fans reacted to the win on social media:

Tshibola cost Villa a reported £5 million from Reading in the summer but fitness issues have restricted the midfielder to just six Championship appearances so far, and only one under new boss Steve Bruce.

Hepburn-Murphy, meanwhile, has risen through the ranks at Villa Park and made his first team bow earlier this year. The striker’s only first team outing this season was a four-minute cameo against Newcastle United in September – a fixture in which Tshibola scored.
