Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are set to give Joey Barton a chance to train with their development squad.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Glasgow Rangers are prepared to offer Joey Barton the chance to train with their development squad.
Barton had showdown talks with Mark Warburton yesterday, but he was reportedly unable to convince the Rangers boss that he has a future at Ibrox.
Barton now looks set to leave Rangers in the January transfer window, with the Mail suggesting that Burnley are potential suitors for the central midfielder.

Barton left Burnley to join Rangers in the summer transfer window, but his time in Glasgow has been a disaster to date.
It looks as if Barton has already played his last match for Rangers, but Warburton is reportedly willing to give the 34-year-old a chance to stay fit.

Barton has been handed an opportunity to train with Rangers’ youngsters, to ensure that he stays in shape, so he is ready to perform when he does leave.
Barton had previously suggested that he hoped he would be able to break back into Rangers’ team, but it seems that his future now lies away from Ibrox.
