Liverpool are the bookies’ favourites to sign Steven Gerrard, with Celtic second on the list.
Popular bookmakers BETVICTOR have installed Liverpool as 4/5 favourites in the race to sign Reds legend Steven Gerrard during the January transfer window.
The LA Galaxy midfielder’s contract is due to expire when the MLS season reaches its’ completion, and there is sure to be a whole host of clubs interested in signing the 36-year-old.
The Liverpool legend has made 35 appearances for the Galaxy since he swapped Merseyside for Los Angeles in 2015, and has had to evolve his playing style after entering his mid-thirties.
BETVICTOR list Manchester City at 16/1 to sign the former England international, while North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur can be backed at 20’s.
Although Gerrard is undoubtedly a long way past his prime, there is a strong argument to suggest that he would be a fantastic addition to the Liverpool squad.
Not only would he be an invaluable presence and influence in the changing room, but he would also actually add something to Jürgen Klopp’s side and, if used in rotation with the German’s other midfield options, could prove to be a wonderful asset for Liverpool during the second half of the season.
A move to Celtic Park would seem slightly further fetched, with the Glasgow giant’s ability to pay Gerrard salary more limited than than other clubs with reported interest in the Galaxy midfielder.
There would surely not be one Liverpool fan opposed to the potential of their hero once again gracing the Anfield turf, and according to BETVICTOR, there is a very good chance of the move becoming a reality.
