Hull City fans have not hidden their feelings after their side’s 2-0 home defeat against Stoke City.
Hull City manager Mike Phelan
Hull City followed their heavy defeat to Bournemouth last week with a disappointing performance and 2-0 loss against a Xherdan Shaqiri inspired Stoke City – and their supporters took to Twitter to express their despair.
Mike Phelan’s Hull have now lost five Premier League games in a row and were outplayed throughout the contest, which was ultimately settled by two superb long-range strikes from Swiss international Shaqiri either side of half-time.

The first goal, on 26 minutes, saw Hull City keeper David Marshall easily beaten from range after Shaqiri drifted past Hull’s David Meyler, Robert Snodgrass and Ryan Mason whilst cutting on from the right side. Too much time and space was afforded to the diminutive Stoke midfielder by a Hull side that struggled to cope with the likes of Shaqiri, Marko Arnautovic and Joe Allen throughout the match.

Hull conceded the second of Stoke’s goals from a superb direct free-kick, from the left foot of Shaqiri, where Marshall again failed to deal with the strike – this time perhaps showing too much of the goal to the Stoke number 22.

Twitter can be an unforgiving platform – as we can see from Hull’s fan reaction in the aftermath of another defeat. The aforementioned Marshall and Phelan may want to avoid perusing the social network site for a few hours, if the following tweets are an accurate representation of Hull supporters’ perspectives.
