The German midfielder scored a hat-trick in the 6-0 win over Ludogorets this week.
The midfielder was in fine form on Wednesday evening as he scored a superb hat-trick in the 6-0 demolition of Ludogorets.
The goals took him to six in all competitions for the Gunners this year, level with Alexis Sanchez in their scoring charts.
It also means he is now just two goals shy of the eight he managed in the whole of last season.
The change is an impressive one from him, with many often questioning Ozil's lack of goals over the years.
And Wenger was keen to praise his star man, saying he believes the German is now finding the perfect balance to his game.
“It looks like he has a taste to score goals,” he told the Daily Mail.
“He's getting in behind now. Before he only liked to come for the ball and provide. You want him to be a provider and a scorer and it looks like he's slowly moving towards that better balance.”
It remains to be seen if Ozil can maintain his current goal-scoring form and hit double figures this year.
He has never done that for the Gunners, at least as far as the Premier League and Champions League goals are concerned, and him doing so would be a major boost to their hopes of success.
His next chance to add to his tally will be when they take on Middlesbrough at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
