Manchester United failed to win against Liverpool in the Premier League on Monday.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City striker Gary Lineker has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to David de Gea’s performance for Manchester United against Liverpool on Monday evening.

De Gea featured for United in the Premier League game against Liverpool away from home at Anfield on Monday evening.

The Spain international goalkeeper started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as it ended in a goalless draw.

The former Atletico Madrid star was superb as he almost always is, making four saves, two of which were sensational.

Former Tottenham and Leicester striker Lineker was following the match, and he was impressed with the performance of De Gea.

Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez was also following the game, and he, too, was impressed with the display of his former United teammate.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Anfield on Monday evening, hosts Liverpool had 65% of the possession, took nine shots of which three were on target, and earned three corners, according to BBC Sport.

Visitors United had just 35% of the possession, took seven shots of which only one was on target, and earned one corner, according to BBC Sport.
