Do not sleep in on Sunday or you will miss this all-Yorkshire clash at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Not even the most ambitious Huddersfield Town fan would have expected the Terriers to be top of the Championship in mid-October, but a flying start means that is exactly where David Wagner’s side find themselves going into this Sunday lunchtime clash with Sheffield Wednesday.

The Owls make the short trip north sat just three points outside the play-offs, though Saturday’s results will mean that margin will almost certainly have increased by the time Carlos Carvalhal’s side kick off.

The Key Battle – Aaron Mooy vs Kieran Lee

Australian international Mooy is on loan at Huddersfield from Manchester City, and his quality has been evident throughout Town’s superb start to the season.

He will not have it all his own way against Lee, however, who has scored vital last-minute winners on two separate occasions for Wednesday this season and is an integral part of the Owls midfield.

Last Meeting

Sheffield Wednesday were victorious in the last meeting between the two Yorkshire clubs, as Fernando Forestieri’s late goal earned the Owls a 1-0 win at the John Smith’s Stadium in April.

Overall, the hosts have the edge. Huddersfield have won this fixture 24 times, Wednesday have earned 18 victories and there have been 12 draws.

Wednesday fans may remember Scott as the man who sent off Barry Bannan in their 3-0 win at Nottingham Forest last season, while Owls defender Sam Hutchinson also saw red courtesy of Scott in the 2-1 home defeat to Bolton in January 2015.
